Kaleidoscopic Crush | Melbourne Wedding Photographer
Love is love. It’s a universal language that is borderless, indiscriminate and unconditional. Mahtab & Jason’s story is just this. They met in Perth through a chance meeting dictated by their careers and since that time have made some serious life choices to make their initial long distance relationship arrive at this sun kissed and colour saturated wedding day celebrated in Melbourne’s Fitzroy Gardens. Mahtab, with her Persian background, and Jason haling from South Gippsland , celebrated their love story with a traditional Iranian ceremony called a ‘Sofre Aghd’ mixed with a traditional Australian version. Throughout the ceremony the couple sat a table set with multiple symbolic items while their celebrant, Jackie read them out a typical ‘Australian’reading. While this was happening a few of the female guests (happily married ones!) held a white lace canopy over their heads while other female guests sprinkled sugar powder over the canopy, symbolising good and sweet wishes from people who have been married. After their ‘I do’s’ and exchange of rings, Mahtab & Jason fed each other some honey while the wedding guests chanted “LI LI LI”. It was colourful, intimate and beautiful to watch and like always, we feel humbled to have been a witness to such a unique display of love.
Best wishes you two!!
