It gave them the opportunity to explore and be in their element while we were given so many opportunities to capture that raw wonder and curiosity that comes with being a child..

They say “all good things come in small packages”…….and they do!! When we met Brooke, Jaida & Grayson on an August evening we didn’t know that they’d be also bringing the sunshine with them! There was so much to love about this country themed shoot, the cheeky smiles, dusty lanes, big open spaces, rusty gates and a ride in Brookes affectionately named ute, ‘HERVY’. There was even a flash of lightning towards the end 😉⚡️

So as they say, all good things come to an end! As restrictions recently were lifted, initiated by a fall in positive Covid-19 cases, we felt that we could no longer capture an honestly depiction of how the lockdowns had affected you. And now, as it seems, restrictions may well be enforced again with a steady rise in cases in Victoria alone. There’s no denying it, this year (as of June 25th) there have been 488,901 deaths globally due to Covid-19. That’s more than Malaria, Homicides, Suicides, Influenza and Malnutrition, and in only 6 months…

Welcome to yet another edition and our third installment of the Malmsbury In Isolation Project. In this edition we take you back over a month ago and introduce you to another 10 families over 18 days during our time in ‘isolation’. The Botanical gardens proved popular again as an Autumn backdrop, as well as the oval, viaduct and family homes. We enjoyed walks, bike riding, bonfires, music, playing in the backyard, gardening, time with family, time in the sandpit, a bite to eat, exploring paddocks and walking the dog. We hope you have been enjoying seeing some familiar faces and how they have been spending the days during this historic time…

Welcome to the second edition of our Malmsbury In Isolation story. Since starting our documentary of the town we have been overwhelmed with the response from our neighbours and the media. Everyone has been so supportive and welcoming and we thank you for letting us into your lives if not for a brief moment in time. In this blog we meet parents, teachers, vintners, graphic designers, cattle breeders, carpenters, artists, grandmothers, retirees and those that work in health, retail and hospitality. We are a broad and talented bunch of villagers all trying to make sense of this pandemic and we think you are all doing it extremely well!
